Jolie met her husband at the door, wrapped her arms around him, and then kissed him gently on the lips. She could smell and taste the beer on his breath, and her husband rarely drank. Two days in a row, he'd been drinking, so she was even more perplexed about what was going on between the two of them.

Suddenly, Jolie pulled away from him and said, "Where's Paul?"

Brad sighed. "Well, I kind of wanted to talk to you about that."

Jolie tilted her head to the side and looked at her husband with scrutiny. "You two didn't have a fight, did you?"

"Not exactly." Brad reached down and picked up his bag. He put his other arm around Jolie's shoulder. "Come on. I'll explain it all to you."

"Is he okay?"

Brad's smile was meant to put her at ease, but all it really did was make her uncomfortable. It didn’t help that his smile was obviously mischievous. It wasn't like Brad not to be straightforward with her. He pulled his arm from around her shoulder and held his hand out for her to take it and follow him into the house, and she did, but the expression on her face was clear. She was confused.

Once inside, the couple sat on the couch, Brad first, patting his lap to have her sit with him. When she sat next to him and threw her legs over his so that she was mostly sitting in his lap, she settled into his arms, while he wrapped both hands around her and locked is fingers together behind her back.

Their lips met again, only this time, he was more forceful and less tender, possessing her mouth with his own, and letting his fingers dig into her soft skin of her back. He slid his hand forward and to the side of her breast, and while his tongue probed her lips and mouth, his hand stroked and then squeezed her breast firmly. His passion and desire for her were already building, but he knew their conversation had to come first.

The thought of that instantly killed the desire and he pulled back and sighed. "I've got to tell you something, baby, and I'm not sure how you're going to take it. I want to discuss it with you before anything else happens, okay?"

Brad seemed serious, but there was still a hint of amusement in his eyes that didn't escape Jolie's notice.

"Okay, baby, sure... what's going on?"

"Well, I want to ask you a question first." Brad smiled at her, and he paused speaking for a moment, almost enjoying her discomfort. Putting her out of her misery, he continued. "How do you feel about Paul?"

"What do you mean?"

"Pretty simple, Jo. How do you feel about him?"

"You mean, like do I like him? Yeah. I mean, he's your brother. He's my family."

"Do you love him?" Brad asked.

"Sure," she responded.

"Well, that's good news."

"Did he think I don't like him?" she queried, completely confused by the line of questioning.

"No..." Brad drawled.

Jolie swatted at Brad's chest and said, "Brad, tell me what's going on?"

"Paul's in love with you.
